The East Point Lighthouse is a major coastal light serving all marine traffic using the Canso Strait to the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The light and the light-keeper’s cottage were built in 1866-67. Apart from minor changes, the tower exterior is in almost original condition. As for the light-keepers cottage, it was replaced with a two-story house in 1923.
Richard Vickerson is from Charlottetown. He studied dentistry, but took up painting in the 1970s. Vickerson is best known for watercolors and oil paintings of P.E.I. views and subjects.
