Clarence Ferdinand Morrissey (1876-1960) was a farmer and business operator in Tignish. He was elected to the provincial legislature as a Conservative in a 1945 byelection. He was defeated two years later. In 1952, he would become one of the first Tignish village commissioners. Morrissey was a life-long resident of Tignish. For many years, he owned and operated a lobster packing plant in Black Marsh, just north of the village. He was also a successful fox farmer.
