Description: Admiralty sea chart. Paper cleaned and restored. Mounted on archival backing. Shows several small spots of discoloration thought to be lamp oil. Minor paper loss at neat line along lower right.
Henry Wolsey Bayfield was a naval officer and hydrographic surveyor. He was born in Kingston upon Hull, England in 1795. He married Fanny, daughter of Charles Wright, RE, in 1838. They had four sons and two daughters. Bayfield died at Charlottetown, P.E.I., in 1885.
