Description: Handmade wood 2-masted schooner model, with 4 hand-stitched canvas sails. Acquired in St. Eleanors. No date, but believed to be circa 1970.
A schooner is a type of sailing ship, as defined by its rig configuration. Typically it has two or more masts, with the foremast being slightly shorter than the mainmast. The type of vessel first appeared in eastern North America in the early 1700s.
