Lorne Hiram Read was born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island on 13 September 1888, the son of Thomas Whittamore Read and Elvira Davidson. After attending school in Summerside he graduated from the College of Photography in Effingham, Illinois. In 1909 he opened a photographic studio on Water Street in Summerside which he operated for many years. In 1916 he married Delia Brown. Read died on 6 April 1953.
The Montrose River is a stream in western Prince County. It’s situated east of Huntley, and west of Jacques Cartier Provincial Park on the island’s north shore.
