Cumberland Street is a thoroughfare running north-south (actually, northwest-southeast) in downtown Charlottetown. It’s located about 4 blocks east of the city’s original commercial district. Cumberland Street is within what’s known as Charlottetown’s 500 Lot Area, which refers to the original number of lots surveyed for the new provincial capital by Charles Morris in 1768.
